1 1/3 cups butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 eggs
5 cups flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
butterscotch or white chocolate chips

Cooking time: 15 + 30 Serving: All the good people

Adorable chocolate teddy bear cookies that are super fun to make with your kids! Perfect for a potluck or party.


Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Mix in vanilla. Add eggs one at a time. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and beat until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

To make the cookies:

Form one 1-1/2″ ball for the inch head, 1 one-inch ball for the muzzle, three smaller balls for the nose and ears. Press butterscotch chips or white chocolate chips into the head above the muzzle for the eyes. Form two tiny balls for the pupils. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until set. Cook on a wire rack.
